omai is MIT-licensed software. You control the configuration and services you connect; the project does not provide a hosted sync service or uptime guarantee.
01About these terms
These terms describe use of the omai website and desktop plugin, maintained by pablousx. By choosing to use them, you accept these terms to the extent applicable law permits. If you do not agree, you may stop using them.
omai is independent software. It is not an official product of, or endorsed by, Omarchy, OpenAI, Anthropic, or the OpenCode maintainers. Product names remain the property of their respective owners.
02Open-source license
The omai software is provided under the MIT License. That license governs your rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute the software. These website terms do not remove or narrow rights granted by the MIT License. Third-party components retain their own licenses.
03What omai does
omai synchronizes supported global AI-tool configuration locally and, when you connect a remote, through Git. It can change native configuration and propagate supported edits or deletions. It provides conflict decisions and local recovery within the documented compatibility boundaries.
omai is not a hosted storage service, AI model provider, credential vault, or package manager for your AI tools. Features and supported formats can change, and running provider sessions may need restarting to pick up configuration changes.
04Your responsibilities
Use omai only with files, accounts, and repositories you are authorized to access. You are responsible for your repository’s visibility, access rules, credentials, and compliance with your providers’ terms and applicable law.
Review what you synchronize. Instructions, hooks, skills, commands, plugins, and MCP declarations can affect what your tools execute. Connect only to repositories controlled by people you trust, keep secrets out of the source, and review conflicts before applying a version.
Maintain independent backups where needed. Local recovery is useful but is not a promise that every edit, deletion, or device failure can be reversed. Do not rely on secret scanning as a complete security review.
05Third-party services
Omarchy, GitHub or another Git host, AI providers, MCP servers, and any tools you install are independently operated. Their availability, charges, licenses, and data practices are governed by their respective terms. You are responsible for any costs from services you choose.
This website links to external resources for convenience. The maintainer does not control their content or availability.
06Availability and support
omai is provided as an open-source project without a paid service commitment or uptime guarantee. Releases, compatibility, documentation, and support availability may change. Support is offered through the project’s available channels without a guaranteed response time.
07Warranty and liability
As described in the MIT License, the software is provided “as is”, without warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the authors and copyright holders are not liable for claims, damages, or other liability arising from the software or its use, including configuration loss, service interruptions, or unintended execution of synchronized content. Nothing here excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
08Privacy and stopping use
The Privacy Policy explains local storage, your chosen Git remote, recovery records, and website hosting.
You can stop automatic syncing and uninstall the plugin. Uninstalling the widget alone does not stop its companion service or erase configuration, local records, or remote history. Follow the operations guide to stop the service and review retained data.
09Updates and contact
These terms may be updated as the project changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Questions can be raised through the project’s issue tracker or the contact options on the maintainer’s GitHub profile. Keep sensitive information out of public issues.
