The short version: omadocs is free software under the MIT License. You control which files you upload and which Google account receives them. Keep your originals and review important documents after uploading.
01About these terms
These terms describe use of the official omadocs website and plugin maintained by pablousx. By using them, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the website and plugin.
The software is provided under the MIT License. That license governs your rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute the software; these terms do not take those rights away.
02What the plugin does
omadocs uploads a new copy of a local DOCX, XLSX, or PPTX file to the Google Drive account you select and opens the link returned by Google in your default browser.
- Each new upload creates a separate Drive copy, including repeat uploads of the same local file.
- The plugin does not synchronize files. Edits in Google do not update the local original.
- Reopening an existing upload uses its stored Google link without uploading another copy.
- Cancelling an upload cannot undo a file Google has already received.
- Account removal and uninstallation do not delete uploaded Drive files.
03Your responsibilities
You are responsible for having permission to upload and use your selected documents, choosing the appropriate Google account, and following applicable law and your organization’s policies.
Keep backups of important files. Check the account, uploaded content, formatting, and sharing settings in Google Drive before relying on or distributing a document. Secure your device and keyring, and do not share your authorization tokens.
Do not use the project’s website or services to infringe others’ rights, distribute malicious content, or interfere with other users or service providers.
04Google, GitHub, and Omarchy
You need access to a suitable Omarchy installation, a Google account, an internet connection, and the documented dependencies. Google may limit authorization or uploads based on account, storage, quota, or administrator policies.
Google controls its browser interface, account sessions, editing features, formatting support, service availability, and storage. A returned link may open a viewer or require an additional Open with action. The plugin does not guarantee a particular editor or browser account session.
Your use of Google and GitHub is also governed by their respective terms, including Google’s Terms of Service and GitHub’s Terms of Service. omadocs is an independent project and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Google, Microsoft, or Omarchy.
05Availability and changes
omadocs is free software. There is no subscription charge from the project and no guaranteed support response time, uptime, maintenance period, or future compatibility. Your internet provider or third-party services may have their own charges.
The project may change or discontinue features or website availability. Google API changes or policy changes may also affect functionality. Release notes and installation documentation identify known limitations; development versions may require a custom Google OAuth client.
06Warranty and liability
As stated in the MIT License, the software is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the authors and copyright holders are not liable for claims, damages, or other liability arising from use of the software. This includes problems involving lost data, duplicate uploads, unavailable services, or document formatting. No wording here excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
07Privacy and stopping use
The Privacy Policy explains local storage, Google access, website hosting, and your data controls.
You can stop using omadocs at any time. Follow the uninstall instructions to restore file associations and clear local app data before removing the source. You can separately revoke access through Google Account connections and delete any uploaded files in Google Drive.
08Changes and contact
Updated terms will appear on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes will be noted in project release notes. These terms do not change the license already granted for copies of the software.
Questions can be raised through GitHub Issues. Issues are public, so do not include personal documents or credentials. For a private matter, ask for a private contact method without posting sensitive details.
